An array of visits of great cultural and tourist interest are in easy reach of the Hostal de La Gavina:
The world of Dalí. The places where the celebrated painter was born and lived: The Figueres Museum and his House-Museum at Portlligat, Cadaqués and the Castell de Púbol.
You can also visit pretty fishing villages only a few kilometers away, for instance La Bisbal with its famous pottery; the Romanesque and Medieval quarters of l’Empordà; the lively Platja d’Aro or the old town of Girona.
The Baix Empordà is also an excellent starting point to explore Romanesque architecture as it boasts a number of important monuments from this period. But the predominant architectural style in the area is the Gothic style.
